WHO WE ARE

Real Talk Education LLC is a Texas limited liability company and a continuing education provider approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), Provider No. 11372-CEP. We offer continuing education courses for Texas real estate license holders. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and our course registrations, how we use it, and the choices you have.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you give us when you register for a course or contact us:

Your name, email address, and phone number
Your Texas real estate license number and, if you provide it, your brokerage
Payment information, which is handled by our payment processor and is not stored by us
Any message, question, or request you send us
An accessibility or accommodation request, if you make one

Information we create or receive in connection with a course:

Your registration record and the pre-enrollment agreement you accept at checkout
Sign-in and sign-out records, identity verification notes, and attendance records
For courses delivered over Zoom, the attendance report, chat log, and poll results generated by the meeting platform
Your course completion status, and the course evaluation you submit if you choose to submit one

Information collected automatically when you use our website:

Standard log information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit
Information from cookies and similar technologies used by our website platform

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to:

Register you for courses and confirm your registration
Process payments and sponsor codes, and issue refunds
Verify your identity and record your attendance, which is required before continuing education credit can be awarded
Report your course completion to TREC so your credit can be posted
Communicate with you about a course you registered for, including schedule changes, location or access details, and follow-up
Respond to your questions, requests, complaints, and refund requests
Keep the provider records we are required to keep as an approved provider
Send you information about future courses, if you have asked to receive it
Maintain and improve our website and our courses

PHONE CALLS AND TEXT MESSAGES

If you give us your phone number when you register or contact us, we may call or text you about your registration or the course you signed up for. Examples include a schedule change, a location or access detail, a problem with your registration, or a question about your license number.

We do not run a text message marketing program and we do not use an automated texting service. If you would rather not receive calls or texts from us, tell us and we will use email instead. You can also reply STOP to any text from us and we will stop texting you. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as follows:

With TREC, when we report course completions or respond to an audit or inquiry, or where we are otherwise required to do so as an approved provider
With the instructor assigned to your course, who needs your name and license number to verify attendance and completion eligibility
With service providers that operate parts of our business on our behalf, including our website and booking platform, our payment processor, our email and file storage providers, and the video meeting platform used for virtual classes. These providers may use the information only to provide services to us.
With our professional advisors, such as an attorney or accountant, when we need their advice
If we sell or transfer the business, or if we merge with or are acquired by another company, in which case registration and course records may transfer as part of that transaction
When the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights, safety, or property

REQUIRED REPORTING TO TREC

Reporting your course completion to the Texas Real Estate Commission is a legal obligation we have as an approved continuing education provider. It is not a commercial arrangement, and it is not something we do for our own benefit.

When you complete a course, we transmit to TREC the information TREC requires in order to post your credit. That includes your full legal name, your Texas license number, the approved course number, the course completion date, and our provider number. We also respond to TREC if it audits our records or asks about a particular course or student.

This reporting is required. You cannot opt out of it and still receive continuing education credit. If you do not want your completion reported, you are welcome to attend the course, but we will not report it and you will not receive credit for it.

We are also required to notify TREC when a student requests a refund because the student was dissatisfied with the quality of a course. If you ask for a refund on that basis, your request and the information needed to identify you and the course will be reported to TREC in addition to being handled by us.

TREC is a state agency. It is not one of our service providers, business partners, or advertisers. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not share it with any other company for that company's own marketing. The only parties that receive your information are the ones described in the section above.

CLASS SPONSORS

Some classes are sponsored, and a sponsor code may reduce your tuition or make a class free. A sponsor pays for seats. A sponsor does not receive your name, your contact information, your license number, or any other registrant information from us, and we do not give a sponsor an attendance list. If that ever changes for a particular class, we will say so on that class page and ask for your consent at registration.

PAYMENTS

Course payments are processed by the payment gateway built into our website platform, currently Wix Payments. We receive confirmation of your payment, the amount, and the last four digits of the card. We do not receive or store your full card number, and we have no access to your card details.

The payment gateway is operated by an independent company, not by us. It collects and handles your payment information under its own privacy policy and security practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to review that company's privacy policy. If you pay by card, your information is subject to its terms in addition to this policy.

IDENTITY VERIFICATION

As an approved provider, we are required to verify your identity before continuing education credit can be awarded. For an in-person class, that means checking your photo identification when you sign in. For a virtual class, it may mean joining under your registered name and turning on your camera.

We look at your identification and record only that the check was completed, next to your name on the sign-in record. We do not photograph, scan, copy, or keep your driver's license or any other identification document.

COOKIES AND WEBSITE ANALYTICS

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, keep you signed in if you have an account with us, and help us understand how the site is used. These include essential cookies the site needs in order to function, functional cookies that remember your choices, and analytics cookies that give us basic visitor statistics, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors reach the site. Our website platform sets these cookies as part of hosting the site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Many browsers offer a Do Not Track setting that signals a preference not to be tracked across websites. There is no common industry standard for responding to those signals, and our website does not currently respond to them.

OTHER WEBSITES AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Our website links to other services we use or maintain, including our Facebook and Instagram pages and the video meeting platform used for virtual classes. Those services are operated by other companies under their own privacy policies and settings, and this policy does not cover them. If you interact with us on social media, the information you share there is governed by that platform's privacy policy, and we encourage you to review it. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of any website we link to.

COURSE EVALUATIONS, TESTIMONIALS AND REVIEWS

Course and instructor evaluations are collected to measure educational quality, improve instruction, and satisfy the requirements that apply to us as an approved provider. They are part of our provider records, they may be reviewed or produced to TREC on request, and the instructor is neither present while you complete one nor involved in the evaluation process in any way.

We do not use your course evaluation for marketing, for advertising, as a website testimonial, or in a social media post unless you give us permission.

If you separately send us a comment, a review, or a testimonial, we may quote it in our marketing, on our website, or on our social media, and we may use your name and your brokerage with it. We will not use your photograph without your permission.

If you would prefer that we not quote you at all, or that we use your first name and last initial only, tell us and we will honor that. A review you post publicly, such as on a social media page or a public review site, may be shared as you posted it. Giving a testimonial is voluntary and is never a condition of registering for a course or of receiving CE credit. If you would like a testimonial of yours removed at any time, email us and we will take it down.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

As an approved TREC provider, we are required to keep course records for at least four years after a course is completed. These records include registration records, pre-enrollment agreements, attendance and identity verification records, completion records, evaluations, and payment and refund records.

We keep other information, such as a general inquiry, only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected or as long as the law requires.

ACCESSIBILITY AND ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS

If you ask for an accommodation in order to take part in a course, we collect only the information reasonably necessary to review and arrange it. We use that information only for that purpose, and we share it only with the people or service providers who need it in order to help with your request, or where the law requires it.

DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including limiting who can access student records. Course records that contain names and license numbers are stored in access-controlled folders and are not posted publicly. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

YOUR CHOICES

Email. You can unsubscribe from course announcements at any time using the link in the email, or by emailing us. We will still send you messages about a course you are registered for.
Calls and texts. Tell us you prefer email, or reply STOP to a text.
Your information. You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. Email us and we will respond. We cannot delete records we are required to keep for four years as an approved provider, or records we need in order to support a completion we have already reported.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Anyone may visit our website and read about our courses. Our courses are written for real estate license holders and other adult learners, but we do not place an age limit on learning about or attending a class.

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it, except where we are required to keep a record. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, please email us.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
